Common Marketing Mistakes Staffing Agencies Make—And How to Fix Them
In the everyday grind that staffing agencies face, marketing and sales logistics tend to fall to the wayside, especially those with small marketing...
In an incredibly competitive industry, staffing firms are constantly vying to distinguish themselves from the competition. You need to not only offer value to your clients, but also provide superb customer service and long term results.
Generating more long-term and successful job placements for your clients will affirm your company as an industry leader and solidify your agency as their number one choice. Here are five ways staffing firms can generate more job placements and make their clients happy.
When your job descriptions focus on skills needed to do the job, rather than on performance objectives, you attract a certain kind of candidate. Make your candidates stand out from the rest by providing stellar talent that not only meet the skills necessary to perform the job, but are focused on performance objectives.
There are limitless candidates that can show up to a job and put in their 40 hours a week. How will your candidates differ? Demonstrate to your client how your specific staffing agency can save them time, energy, and costs associated with recruiting, and still yield stellar candidates that exceed expectations.
For entry-level employees, it costs companies between 30-50% of their annual salary to replace them every time a position opens up. And the costs increase the higher up in experience you go, costing 150% of a mid-level employee’s salary, and 400% of a high-level employee’s salary to replace them.
Companies hate turnover. It’s expensive and time-consuming. Set yourself apart by hiring long-term employees who are in it for the career, not the job. Find candidates where the company position offers enough growth opportunity for them to stick around for the long term.
In addition to finding excellent candidates, don’t forget to leverage inbound tactics for your staffing agency marketing plans. Create an online presence by starting a company blog and write posts that will attract the attention of high-quality talent. Include specific call-to-actions to invite candidates to learn more about the job market and specific job openings.
LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook can not only help you spread the word about specific job openings, but you can also post articles that qualified talent will find interesting. Having a strong online presence will help you attract candidates that aren’t necessarily actively looking for a new job, but may think “Hmm, that sounds like a great opportunity.” Social professional networks are now listed as the #2 resource for quality hires, second only to Internet job boards.
Generating more job placements that are high-quality, goal-seeking, long-term team players will make your clients grateful that they chose you as their staffing agency. The quality of service that you provide will not only help retain your clients, but will help garner more clients through word of mouth. Differentiate your agency from the competition by illustrating the quality of candidates you can produce.
