If_you_build_itHave you ever heard the saying, “If you build it, they will come?” I’m not sure where this quote actually originated but I do always think of the Kevin Costner movie, Field of Dreams, when he was told by a mysterious voice, “If you build it, he will come,” referring to the baseball field he was supposed to build in order for his late Dad to come play again.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, I’ve always found this saying to be entirely inaccurate in most instances. If you build a business, customers won’t just find you and flood your store handing over their money… that’s where advertising comes into play. If you have a great blog, chock-full of compelling content – you won’t just be magically found in the sea of websites online… and that’s where inbound marketing can help, with one of the most critical (and sometimes overlooked) tactics being promotion.

Let’s take a look at ten easy actions you can take today to start promoting your blog to the world in order to get found, drive visitors, and convert those visitors into leads.

The key takeaway here is really that content promotion can truly make or break your lead generation program. By following these simple guidelines, you’ll be well on your way to inbound marketing success – and you can rest assured knowing that prospects will find that content you’ve worked so hard on.
