What is a CMS?

Written by LeadG2 | May 18, 2015

Definition of a CMS

A CMS or content managment system is a software program that allows you to add content to a website more easily. HubSpot, for instance, has a CMS through which you can manage your website pages, landing pages, and blog all with very little technical expertise or knowledge of web development.

How a CMS Keeps LeadG2 Sane

Without HubSpot, we would have at least ten other pieces of software to keep track of similar things, and I'm fairly confident we'd drop the ball somewhere. But because we use HubSpot, we have the CMS that allows for the non-technical amoung us to update web content, but we also have a place to send emails, create calls to action, and much more.

Benefits of Using a CMS

  • Easy updating and editing of your content, blog and web pages
  • Access to a number of different analytics and metrics
  • Flexible dashboard with high usability

Using a CMS for your content has a number of advantages. It's not only easy for everyone to use but also provides your team an all-in-one solution for their content management needs.
